Writing with Intuition: A Story Is a State of Mind Retreat
A Five-Day Journey into Creative Consciousness

Join author and creative intuitive Sarah Selecky to learn the magical art of writing from your whole self, using intellect and intuition at once.

These skills live in the heart of story and poetry, yet they’re rarely taught in traditional writing programs. While academic courses focus on craft and technique, they often overlook the mystical ways writers have always connected to symbol, narrative, and ideas. Intuitive practices are essential to creative well-being. Every writer has natural access to this intelligence, but most of us were never taught how to use it as part of our creative toolkit.

This retreat invites writers to move beyond overthinking and into the flow state, where we do our best work. You’ll learn to integrate your analytical mind with your creative energy, so you can write from your whole self, not just your thoughts. Connecting with your intuition makes writing feel like magic!

When writers gather together to practice in nature, magic happens. Writers might begin to see new vibrancy in colours, have vivid dreams about their work, or suddenly understand something essential about their novel while staring at a fir tree.

Each morning begins with instruction in whole-minded writing practices through gentle trance techniques, intuitive writing, and deep sensory awareness. Discover how to translate physical sensations into vivid writing that feels alive on the page. Explore Tarot as a creative catalyst to reveal unexpected directions in character, plot, and theme.

In the afternoons, you will go on intuitive field trips with the forest and the ocean, as you practice deep noticing and experience consciousness as a creative force flowing through the natural world. Evenings will bring dreamwork and reflection.

Through guided writing prompts, silent co-writing sessions, and solo exploration, you’ll transform your inner critic into a supportive inner protector and connect directly to the deeper truth of your story. Learn concrete techniques for moving fluidly between analysis and flow, active thinking and receptivity.

The goal is for everyone to leave this retreat feeling integrated, whole, and powerful in their writing practice, understanding that they are both part of a story and creating a story. Writing with intuition is natural, but we’ve forgotten how to access it. This retreat reminds you.

Writers are more powerful than they realize. We know this deep down, but it takes courage to tap into the mystery. Creative curiosity is your home, and intuitive writing is the practice of being fully alive on the page. It’s what we’re here for.

So come write as your whole, true self!
